In local news, the NSW department of education today issued a statement pertaining to changes in the syllabus at Macquarie Fields High School after the events last week. The school, which until now taught more traditional subjects has noticed a lack of skills in the local area, which needed to be rectified through the school system. The subjects are designed to teach Macquarie Fields residents the skills they need to live in the real world. Subjects such as "High speed chase driving", and "Proper rioting techniques" have covered the gaps previously left by the education system in the area.

Department of Education spokesman Alfred Gesnok spoke with the Annual Weekly on the matter. "It's not rocket science, and these people aren't rocket scientists. I mean, it's clear there's some education issues here. I saw footage of residents lighting a matress, and running at the police with it. Someone needs to step in, and teach our kids about riot weapons. Back when I went through school, we knew that if you couldn't throw it, it wasn't a weapon. Video games are corrupting our kids, and the education system needs to make sure they know what's going on."

Local families have welcomed the move. "Oh shit yeah. Those teachers need to get off their arses and teach our kids before our town turns into a place where you can't even walk outside your own drug lab." - Macquarie Fields local, 'Fred'
